Controls, guides and implements engineering standards in all Rotating Equipment Maintenance activities as per SABIC and/or International standards. Where standards are not available, he will maintains Manufacturers’ recommendations and/or Good engineering practices. He provides input to clarify any technical parameters and confirms maintenance jobs meeting standard engineering specifications and quality acceptable. -Exercises general supervision over routine maintenance work, provides technical support to field supervisors to ensure quality and safety during execution of different maintenance activities. -Identifies and organizes long and short-term specialist assistance requirements, full-fill the requirement of company management system, SHEMS, ISO, etc. Assists Section Head in implementation of procedures. Maintain all technical information related to his area of work and reporting activities to Section Head on daily and weekly basis -Involve in modifications and Capital Projects where engineering input is necessary for Rotating Equipment. He provides technical training to maintenance staffs for in-house training which are relevant to maintenance activities. Develops engineering standards & procedures for maintenance activities and implements these. He does QA/QC for all Rotating Equipment overhauling. He does spare parts management. Key Accountabilities -Provides technical support to Maintenance Supervisors and technicians for quality and safe execution of the work, and ensures that the maintenance job carried out according to Standard Maintenance Procedures, EHSS standers, OEM guidelines and work instructions. -Exercises general supervision over the testing, overhaul and repair of mechanical rotating equipment. Receives and deliver daily briefing on work status, follows up on overdue critical or complex jobs, and determines work priorities, evaluates and decides on technical options, inspects work in progress, and resolves any technical problems. -Oversees new project planning including studying technical drawing and documents, material requirement, initiates procurement action with Material Engineer and Planning & T/A Manager and follows through to supervision of work. -Identifies requirements for and organizes provision of long and short-term specialist assistance from manufacturers and technical contractors. Ensures that work specified is performed to required standards. -Identify chronic problems in his area of work and follow up with concern departments like Engineering, Operations and Inspection for rectification. -Coordinates with Inspection & Planner and directs preparation activities for unit Shutdown and Turnaround or Routine jobs including assessing critical maintenance repair and new installation requirements, timing of activities, man power requirements, material type, quantity and additional spares needed to ensure efficient mechanical repairs during turnaround. Follows up with Material Engineer & Planning & T/A Manager for material procurement for mechanical work. Meets with local manufacturer, supplier and vendor representatives, and arranges the provision of technical support from them as required. -Develops maintenance programs such as the Reliability and Preventive Maintenance Programs for rotating equipment. -Leads a team which is responsible for field-wide planning, scheduling and under the direction of concerned Rotating Equipment Section Manager. -Advises line operations and maintenance supervisors on matters related to rotating equipment maintenance and operation. -Serves as a technical consultant to the rotating equipment team. -Ensure the business processes and work activities, relevant to assignments, are executed in compliance with SABIC policy, procedures and best practice to achieve the business objectives in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner. -Assists the line Maintenance organizations in the implementation of approved programs by furnishing information, authoritative interpretatio
B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized University . -Excellent knowledge in English & Computer. -SAP knowledge will be added advantage. Minimum Experience -For B.Sc. Degree 10 to 15 years relevant experience in Fertilizer or Petro-Chemical Industry. -M. Tech. (or M.E) degree 8 to 15 years working experience in Fertilizer or Petro-Chemical Industry. Knowledge of hydro-dynamics. -Exposures to big multi-stage Compressors and Turbines, Pumps and Gearboxes. -Strong Knowledge on Mechanical Seals (Dry Seals & Oil-Seals). -Knowledge of Reciprocating machines. -Material Engineering knowledge of spare parts. MDRM Software knowledge. -SHEM Standards. -Rotating machines Inspection Procedures.
